I liked it but I doubt I'll drink much more of it this summer... maybe another rigger. I'd rather brew myself another summer-style bitter at around 3.5%. Great for those wanting bang for their buck through. And, seeing that it reminded me of a few of the homebrewer 'blonds' I've tried over the last year, there's probably a few brewers out there that would love it.
Stopped in at Regionals tonight bought some Roosters Summer Ale on the back of these recommendations, it is quite nice and a great price.
Also picked up a couple of Hop Wired bottles, now thats the business!
OK, so calling it an APA is probably not quite right since it is not extremely hoppy, but it is nicely balanced. The next batch will be better, and a little less sweet, but this seems to be a good start. :)
I am looking forward to seeing fellow brewers on the 20th in Welly and getting advice. :)
Well, tried a beer called Bennets Brown last night, from Island Bay in wellington, or should I say 'brewed for', but the thing is, I couldnt figure out who brewed it, even when looking at the website. I must say tho, I was well impressed, very tasty, bitter roasted coffee and chocolate notes, went down a treat!!
I met Maurice at the end of last year. Lovely chap with a big passion for beer. Can't remember who brews it for him though (Armageddon was flowing at the time...) He also owned the Island Bay New World for a time and it had a huge selection of craftbeers. Excellent for those Welly Southerners ;-)
Yeah he makes Toast then sticks it on a canvas and calls it art (which it is pretty cool). Rumor has it Harringtons make his beer. But this could be wrong
