Event Description
The Inaugral Christchurch Brewers Conference will take place at Pomeroys on the 30/1/2010.
The competition stlyle this time is an NZ Pale Ale - see the notes re style guidelines here
The rules are simple - $10 per entry with the winner taking the pool. The brewer of the lowest ranked beer will choose the next competition style.
All beers will be skillfully rated by a select panel of judges.

Will you take absentee entries? (Being the last weekend of the school hols we might be taking our last chance for a summer long weekend away, so may not be in Chch that day).

Just bottle our NZIPA tonight, should be interesting. the FG was a bit high but the Rakau hops are really coming through!

Just kegged my attempt at NZIPA, but sampling pre-carbing showed a huge astringency - bugger.... Only just come off the dry hops last Friday, so hopefully will mellow with a few weeks in the fridge, but not in time for the competition. :-(

Post carbonation tasting of NZPA, seems to have mellowed the astringency a little, so I'm back in......
