Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

"Rogue American Amber Ale - man I love that beer... If you love beer, and you love tea, you will really really love this. @ Hashigo now."

+1, awesome beer! Dont know what you mean about the tea bit? Cant say I picked up that character?
Im going to have a home brew funk night tonight!!

CalAle Brett Bruxellensis Belgian Pale Ale
100% Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Fermented Dry Stout
100% Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Styrian Ale
Lactobacillius Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Pediococcus Solera Old Ale
Three Boys IPA at the parrot yesterday

Three Boys Oyster Stout tonight then a selection of beer on tap from the fridge. regretabley 700, the late hopped pale is coming to an end

Then a sample from the second lager as I keg, a bit dusty, maybe a bit of sulphur, bit off-putting really
Hoping it'll condition up ok
Working on clearing out the beer fridge so I can give it a bit of a clean before next weekend.

Epic Lager - I'm not a big lager drinker, but this had more flavour than I remember

2 year old bottle of my extract-based honey porter - wow! I should hang on to beers for longer in future. really nice aged character to it, almost oaky.
jt's rendition of B-Sharp wow wow wow - big fan of that one! quite a dry finish but those hops meld together
into a heavenly flavour/aroma!!! well done jt!
well done jt!

Cheers Chris, glad you enjoyed it, it's a repeast soon. Credit to Mr Cherry though, for the inspiration and recipe

quite a dry finish

So I really do need to check my dodgey thermomter
Actually I thought the dry finish worked really well it accentuates the hops even more!
Speaking of which, Happy birthday mate. Not sure if you're doing much to celebrate today, but I hope you have a great one. See you next week... ;)
Sneaky little bugger, I see what you did now!
Had my birthday lunch at Hallertau today. Thanks to Greig & Alex and Tyler & Enzo for coming along ( at my wife's invitation) to surprise me. Food & atmosphere was excellent as always. The presentation on the food really seems to have stepped up a notch recently, very impressive. Anyway, this is What Are You Drinking? so:

Liberty Summit: My memory of this beer when I first drank it in Wellington was better. Today it seemed a little on the sweet side. Still a great beer.
Hallertau Maximus: I stuck my nose in Greig's glass and said "Er dude, where are the hops?". Seriously down on aroma from the hopsack that I sniffed last time. However, the flavour and drinkability are still very much in evidence.
Epic Oaked Amageddon: my first opportunity to try what everyone has been raving about. Huge bitter orange aroma and palate, with the hops very subdued. By the end it was getting a little sawdusty. Didn't stop me coming back for another.
Hallertau Deception: my go-to beer at Hallertau and it didn't let me down. Lovely balance of roast and malt and fruit.

Brought home takeaways of Luxe (coz I had a mouthful of Alex's glass and it tasted AWESOME), Deception and Maximus. Plus a bottle of cider for my wonderful missus.

What a superb way to spend an afternoon. I should turn 40 more often.
recent days...

tap:
8 Wired Hopwired - not as refined as it has been but I kinda like that. "stonefruit" jumped out at me.
Tuatara APA - sweet holy mother of dog!
Croucher Pale Ale - fantastic!
Eastie Boys Brown Dog - imagine this current batch of hopwired with a depth charge of kahlua... sheeeeiiitt! red alert! (need to lock the doors and turn off the lights when I hear any vespas coming as it may be my bro with a bag full of riggers)

bottles:
Twisted Hop IPA - hmmm... ok but it has been better.
Invercargill Smokin Bishop - pretty subdued.
Yeastie Boys Motueka Monster - not so great one day, loved it the next.
Yeastie Boys Yakima Monster - loved it one day, not so much the next.
Thanks to Tom Ashton I had the following tonight:

Brewjolias (on tap) after four months it is still pretty damn good
Speights Porter (on tap) I have a new respect for speights, this was an excellent drop.
Mac's Sassy Red (bottle) should not have had the porter first
Mac's Black (bottle) better once it warmed up

The boys at Lion Nathan can pull out some good beer with the porter and brewjolias, so thanks Tom for the invite!
