Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Yep I miss Bitter Sweet Night too! deliciously hoppy then while your pondering the hops and hopping rates the alcohol rocks in and makes everything happy!!
BKP2 ?

I've no Bitter Sweet left, that was the last bottle I had, left if weeks longer than Michael suggested and it was really good, though as I said, no good as the first beer of the evening. though, too big and everything happy!!.

Maximus guestimation

That was a good follow on from Bitter Sweet, though very early in the evening.
Any left umm, not sure, better check that one, Chris, any idea ??

More North Welly news due shortly ...
Yeh I still have a couple of bottles of Maximus Guestimation or as I called it
Adhock Maximus Remix ! lol
I have that and the Brown in the stockpile.
Also a bottle of batch 700 that needs to be shared

I think we have a good excuse for an afternoon tasting ?
A P-Sharp clone hydrometer sample. A bit drier than I expected, racked & dry hopped.

For the guys in North Welly, is it about time for a tasting, the Adhock Maximus Remix, a BKP, batch 700, a late hopped brown or pale, any other good offers ?

We could also think a few months ahead. Given the weather, what do you reckon we each brew a lager for sampling in October, a North Welly Octoberfest tasting ?
BKP2 is pouring nicely now so I'll pop a bottle of that in. Maybe a side-by-side of PKB, BKP1 & BKP2.

Sign me up for October Wellyfest!
You still have some BKP1 ?
Tis true, I found a couple of sneaky bottles hiding away in the garage.
I guess that's the curse of big bottles - great on the day - but there ain't so many of them.

And with Michael not here we each get a little more in our glass :-))
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Extra IPA Torpedo
Sierra Nevada Porter

So, now that I am in the US, I went to the local grocery store and saw all of these were for sale. Evidently, Sierra Nevada is now a major brand in the US. having tasted these beers, I must say that I think they have managed to maintain the integrity of a craft beer in a big brewery. The pale ale was lovely as always, the Torpedo had a vicious bitter bite with a kick in the arse, and the porter was balanced quite well.

I apologise for gushing, but I like to see success, especially when it comes from sticking to your roots and principles.

Next I will get into some true micro breweries. :) (BTW...I am not starting early...It is pas t midnight here now.)
Mate you should've tried the Wet Hop ale, OMG it was amazing, and like you say they truely have managed to maintain the whole craft beer thing while still being a big brewery, so good on them!!

How long are you in the US for? I am extremely jelous!!
Hey good to hear from you Michael !

Looks like you're not quite on local time yet - unless you've been making a night of it ?

Be sure to post often on the drinking and brewing threads, like how the brewery gets set up too

cheers, jt
