Hey... I'm thinking about putting a stall in for Liberty Brewing at this years Beervana. I don't have a lot of stuff to display or serve... or anything like that at all - so I was thinking about holding a WBC for the entire country - I know a lot of Chchers will be coming along to beervana and it is in Wellington - so I'm sure that there would be a few of you's down there too... as well as a fair share of the rest of the North Island.

I need to find out if we are allowed to do this first of all - but what do you guys reckon. We could do it every year - but in the first instance, it gets the public in General tasting what All Grain home brew is like.

What do you reckon?

Sounds like a pretty good idea, but how does the public get to taste the beers?? By judging? lol, or just by hanging round and being given tasters etc?? Also, is that technically legal or not??

Also if ya need help with the Liberty stall let us know cos id be happy to offer some assistance :o)
Yeah - I figured that if we could get the home brew into the venue in the first place, then maybe some home brewers could exchange a few bottles for a discount at liberty maybe.
Reckon AirNZ will let me take a keg as my carry on? ;o) lol
Most of Reviled's questions also immediately popped up in my mind.

That said, pretty much whatever the answers are, I'd be happy to contribute. Either with some bottles of homebrew (I'm not set up to keg I'm afraid) or with the stand somehow. Liberty's been a big part of my all-grain brewing career and it would be my pleasure to help out.
You must be able to do something as Mac's and Brewcraft had stands with homebrew at it last year. Cost might be your biggest issue.

I'd be happy to donate some homebrew to serve if it helps...
I'd be up for that. You could do the BC a few weeks before and have the top 5 beers to taste. Most people do a 20 litre batch so 500ml for the comp and the rest for the non-paying customers.

I'm afraid it's illegal to sell homebrew ["It is still illegal to supply or sell any alcoholic beverage without the appropriate license."] in new zealand without a licence. Doesn't say anything about giving it away. You'd probably have to check out with the organiser as to what licence you'll need to serve at the show. It may be that the organisers licence will cover you.

I'll also put my name down for a little volenteering on the day :o)
