Outside of the WBC's and the Homebrew compitition, is there any other way homebrewers can get some quality feedback on the beers they brew?
I'm wondering if there is anything currently running, or could be started, where brews could be "judged" for feedback on progress. I know I could do with some feedback from an unbias source.
I'm taking some into Colin @ TMH on Friday. He's asked for a taste so I figured it was a great way to get some feedback ;-)
I know what I like and don't like about the beer and what I feel I should do to improve it next time but nothing beats getting someone else to try it and compare notes.
The case swap is another great idea and also finding other brewers who are local to you that you can do some mini swaps with. I know what you mean though, finding someone who can actually judge your beer.

You could always just meet up with a local fellow home brewer for a beer swap and give each other feedback. I've done that several times and it's always good. Let me know if you want a swap.
You could
a) send some to me
b) join the Auckland Guild of Brewers and Winemakers - there are some good palettes in that group
c) come along to SOBA meets and bring some beer
d) join in the case swap
e) organise an off the cuff meeting of realbeer brewers and get a few people along
As above, im sure anyone on here would be willing to drink your beer in exchange for feedback ;o) Me included!! lol
Other than that I try to regularly meet up with other brewers for a chat and a beer! Case swaps are allways good too!
Or if theres a local brewery nearby take some beer to the brewer and see what he thinks?? Ive got some feedback from the guys at Yeastie boys, Renaissance and Steve from Hallertau before!
Are you in Welly Simon? There's a few of us floating around, I'm sure we could organise a mini swap to try out a few different beers. Make sure you put your name down for the stocking filler swap - case 4, mid December off the top of my head?
I'd be keen mate, not sure how drinking homebrew would go down in there though! Maybe meet for some beers on tap and exchange the HB goods for later sampling :)
Colin's pretty sweet about it, he actually asked me to bring some in after we got chatting about HB. I'll be there tomorrow at 12pm for a lunchtime bevie and HB tasting.
