Quite a staunch floral and herbal hop aroma, very soft and noble, a little yeast funkiness to support. Floral and a touch of citrus hop flavour, with a supporting biscuity, crunchy, grain malt then into a dry and pretty damn bitter finish. The Belgians took a good shot at a pale ale here, mad props, really like this one.

Just had a Yeastie boys- HM, simply awesome. A very fine beer.
Also tonight a 3 Boys oyster stout for later
Emerson's - Weizenbock
BTW, has anyone tasted the Matson's lager? I saw it in the supermarket last week and bought a 6 pack to give it a try. One of the worst beers I have ever had. If anyone from Matson's happens to read this, I am sorry, but why would you bother? It is watery, tasteless, with no discerning qualities, as far as I could tell. I still have 5 bottles left, taking up valuable room in my fridge. Does anyone else have an opinion? Or am I too harsh?
No, thats not too harsh - My indoor football team used to have a beer at the centre after the game. I've had the whole matsons range and its all rubbish.
My recommendation - bin the lot, or start a five-a-side team and drink it, one each, after yr first game. After 30 mins of shuttle runs it won't taste good, but you'll need something to drink

Following a couple of my Epic clones, tried a Green Man IPA for comparison - and think I'm going to have to check with the brewery to make sure they didn't mislabel the bottles. Tasted very similar to the Wigram Vienna Lager, and looked pretty much the same too. No noticeable hops at all, very disappointing.
A bit silly of them really to release an 'ipa' that isnt one when theres a big craze on big IPA's atm... Im glad I didnt buy one yesterday when I saw them in new world, I was so close too!
Day off!! Time to try some beers:
Dux De Lux Pinot Porter - Toned down Porter Noir.
Guinness 250 - rubbish! An insult to stouts. 3/4 of it went down the Malthouse drain.
Baird Rainy Season Black Ale - A black american brown ale, nice and bitter.
Timmermans Geuze - Sweet and dry, but would like more dry.
Climbing Shiraz - WINE! gasp. Awesome with choc icecream!
WBC APA - Tasting good, not a big hoppy beer but it goes down easy which is the main part. [trash]You might as well just start engraving my name on the trophy. Make sure it's double 't'...[/trash]
Emersons APA - Obviously not as good as ours - I find the American hops quite different to NZ. Very resiny? Almost like the smell of tomato vines. It was a good drop, loved the bitterness of this one.
My Belgian Blonde - Early bird tasting. Still very young, (I'm putting it away for a couple of months) but I think it has lots of potential. Good malt character I assume is from the Melanoiden which is very tasty. Loving the Pacifica hops! The T-58 seems to have done it's job well too. Reminded me of Leffe Blonde which I've been drinking a bit of lately.
Good stuff, Shall I get the engraver out?Your APA sounds alot better than mine, I broke mine!!
