In case the title didn't give it away, there's 3 beers from me in one swap. It's mystery meat Monday!

Ok, some of you might think that's rich, probably more will think it's cheap.
But It is what it is, I filled bottles til one keg ran out, then another, then another. This swap cleaned out my keg fridge! So I don't wanna hear any ingratitude, ok fella?
Fact is organisation isn't my theme this year. I have not a one NHC entry this year either, hows that?

Beer #1, Classic New Zealand Draught (yeah right). Recipe here.

I gambled on Barry's beer tonight to accompany my curry, and I gambled well.

Poured a crystal clear copper colour, with a lovely fluffy white head. Not the Mild then. One whiff told me it wasn't the APA either - rich, almost treacly malt on the aroma, no real hops to speak of. So, Classic NZ Draught then. Spot on.

Mouthfeel is broader and smoother than one would expect from commercial examples of the style, and this is all for the best. Firm juicy malt, but with a bitterness that tickles away at the back of the palate. Lingers nicely.

A very well put together beer, and one I could quaff in quantities over the summer. Should definitely be unleashed on any Lion Red drinker, just to tempt them down the path towards flavour.

Nice work bro.
My secret santa brought an APA I think. The clearest amber. some hoppiness in the aroma, sweet malt and a hint of staleness, nothing to worry about, just means it has travelled a bit I think. The flavour is crisp and clean but I do pick up a slight apple note, aldehyde probably. I just went for a run and this was the perfect refresher afterwards, without doubt the case swap beer that went down fastest!

Cheers!
Barry Blue Ring's NZ Draught for me.

Poured hard straight from the fridge. Carbonation was low and it struggled to form a small white head. Nice and clear amber ale. Aroma of bread, caramel and some floral hops that I can't pinpoint. Riwaka came through though as it warmed. A nice caramely beer with hints of burnt caramel also. Bitterness is quite prominent and last all the way into the finish where the burnt caramels kick in. It's a caramely beer with a hoppy aftertaste. Second glass had a nice head and great lace.

Nice beer Barry. Your beers are consistently great. I guess that's what gives you the confidence to just bottle whatever is lying around and throw it into the case swap ;-)

Cheers.
No 3 for me - I like having to guess!

Very tasty. Spot on - no chilled? I swear there's a magic something going on with the hops that I also picked up in your last case swap beer.
