Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

I reckon you drink a hell of a lot of beer, jt!
Eats a lot of carrots too!
Richard Emerson reckons a little torrified wheat goes a long way in a Kid Chocolate clone... ;-)
I considered wheat for the last one but my tastebuds are off wheat for the time being.
There's enough Brown malt for one more batch of Puke / KC but it won't be for a month or three, may try it then.
May even buy some pale crystal for authenticity !

munch much munch ...
"I reckon you drink a hell of a lot of beer"

nah, only one at a time Mum, moderation and able to remember - usually ;-)
Sharing a couple of bots of the house beer this week, the Swedish Chef with my designer friend plotting things.

Also planning the Belgian Chef (in my head), where i chuck in loads of vaguely Belgian additions (tintin, star anise, Eddie Merckx, coriander, orange peel) in a bork! bork! bork! style and combine with 1.075OG to see what happens
Had a sneaky taste of "Nu Zealunds Drafty Outhouse", my take on the NZ Draught recipe here.

From 14 days primary @ 18 dropping to 16C in the end I had a bad case of egg farts from the fermenter... wife wasn't too happy with it being in the office...... I thought I had screwed it too, however into the keg it went. Gassed up at 80Kpa for a week and had a taste tonight. Only a little bit of sulphur to go, and I think a little DMS in there so here is hoping both will clear up in a week or two just in time to be served at the outlaw father's 65th birthday.

Also kegged and had a hydro sample of "Kev's Pale" recipe here. Very young and needs a couple of weeks at least, but the Riwaka is coming across SO nicely!
Just brought my 'pre-prohibition cream ale' to the boil so im sitting down to a bacon sandwich for brunch and a Pint of my Munich Amarillo SMaSH, its dropped bright and has a lovely deep ruby/copper colour, its not one dimensional like other SMaSH beers ive tried, its awesome! Big citrus mandarin hit from the Amarillo but its balanced out perfectly by the Munich malt backbone... Yum!!!

Glen, you need to bring your Simcoe Munich SMaSH to Martins on the 8th and we can do a side by side :o)
PKB from the bottle (poured into a glass) thanks to Beerstore after a night at the Thirsty Bloke tasting the 6 of the Harringtons range. Some different beers, went down well with those amongst me. Most of the beers were okay, sort of beers you felt had been toned down to appeal to as broad a market as possible. Pick for me would probably have been the Classy Red, which was a/is a mongrel adaption of an APA. Hints of US Hops on the nose but lacking the real oomph you want from an APA.

For the record the beers in order were; Wintertide, Razorback, Classy Red, Cydesdale Stout, Wobbly Boot and Rogue Hop. The brewer was good value but I think left a few bamboozled with references to alpha and beta acids, burtonizing and isomerization.
Back to back what are you drinkings?! You guys need to drink more.

Tonight, the Mussel Inn White Tiger.

Nice - an inspirational belgian for this weekends HB Merckx
Had a bit of a tasting night with a few friends last night. We had: Tuatara Ardennes, Sunshine Black Magic, Hallertau Maximus, Founders Short 'n Stout, Emerson's London Porter, Harringtons Wobbly Boot, 3 Monts, Duvel and Epic Armageddon to finish! It was a very good night.
Tonight I had some Hallertau Statesman from Malthouse, then a Green Man Stout at home. The fresh batch of GM stout is amazing.
I'm in dunedin today, so far:
1) Pitch black (hand pump) - Albar
2) Emersons bookbinder (hand pump) - Albar
3) Little creatures - Craic
4) 3 Boys oyster stout - Tonic
5) Rochefort 8 - Tonic

Tonic is a great bar 5 Emerson taps and one guest, great selection in the fridge too.
