Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

A walk through my cellar then a select?
Anything that makes it to the cellar is off limits for drinking without the right peron, let alone swapping... it's things like vintage Thomas Hardy's for the boys 21st birthdays. Or beers given to me on the condition that I look after them until the rightful comes to open for me. I'm like a beer bank... anyone want to make a deposit????
I just made a deposit. That's probably not what you meant though.

Sorry, nothing relevant to contribute. Carry on.
Man the only deposit I can think of is the one that I am in there alone if you know what I mean!! Also the other Deposit I made in there recently went in at 1 vol!! I have just craked one now and its at about 1.8vols!! Somethings happening in there and Im very happy!!
Can you guys start putting "spoiler" warnings on your posts please?
er sorry. that last post was NSFW.
This'll be my last Pliny then - shocking weather in Chch but pliny tastes so summery its almost making up for it.

On another note - Pliny has THE hardest label to remove for bottle re-use. Hopefully putting my brew in an empty pliny bottle will add something
I had a few Naked Poppys on Saturday night with my last Montecristo #5 that I'd been saving since my Wedding day 3 and a half years ago (I bought a box of them for the wedding). My Dad and Father'n'Law had the other 2.... I'd been planning this for a while.

I had some Naked Blonde - brewed with Homegrown Danscade... the folks loved this one... whether that is a good thing or not is questionable.

Also finally got round to drinking Bambules ABA. I shared it with a friend of mine here in New Plymouth last night. He's an englishman, and he said it reminded him of Ales he used to drink over in England. I would agree - but I've never been to England before, so can't really say. What I can comment on is the fusion between old world flavours and new school Ales... it was great. He balanced the Dark Crystal with some pretty intense bitterness with the sneaky spicy floral hoppy notes towards the finish. The overall impression is quite dry, and extremely refreshing.

Beautiful mahogony colouring, with a moussy white head that lasted all the way down - it was a delight to behold. The malt flavours were so nice, and well attenuated so there wasn't any residual sweetness. This lended the brew to fall towards the bitter side of any balance... which is what I expect from any beer that has an "A" in front of any abbreviated style names.

Thats 3 for 3 delicious beers from this talented homebrewer that I've tasted now - good work mate.
Hey Glad you enjoyed it, I'm fairly happy with the result, a brew I'll come back to and make again with some refinements. Wish I wasn't so eager and then I could let it condition some more. It had a fairly complex hop and malt bill (by my standards) so happy both get an opportunity to show off in this beer. Lookin forward to that naked poppy!
Reviled's Bourbon Porter - YeeHaa! Awesome awesome beer bro!! Nice and dry (rather than 'sweet and low'), just the way I like it. The bourbon is a lot subtler than I expected to be honest but it really kicks in nicely late in the piece... carrying the beer so well on the palate and leaving me wishing I'd not just finished the pint. This is one of those bers that I'd want to hold onto for a year but I'd knock the keg off in 4 weeks (a test or two every night, just to see how it's getting on).

The Port Stout ain't shabby either... I'll drop you a line soon. Many thanks. Something coming your way soon...
Mean :o) Glad you liked it mate, I havnt cracked a bottle of BP in a while, its 6 months in the bottle on thursday, I might have to drink one to celebrate :o) I still have about 5 maybe more litres left as I forced myself to stop lol

Last night was drinking "Brasserie a Vapeur Cochonette", a gift from JoKing, it was so wierd and crazy, so hard to describe everything that I was tasting, on the nose it was like an aged smooth port with hints of horse blanket, and on the palate was port again with a sour acidic finish, brett and maybe even something else? Nicole said it tasted like off old red wine lol so its obviously oxidised but it added to the complexity! Cheers bro!
It's all good. We had this in a tasting and everyone thought it was shit. I said I'll take that bottle off your hands then... I thought it was awesome. I was saving the bottle I gave you for a special occasion... I guess the fact that you liked it is special enough!
I drank it thinking of you and your new family, plus it's Enzo's birthday today so it definately felt special to me :o) Much appreciated!
