We enjoyed a thread on S I breweries recently and to add another bob's worth, we just enjoyed a pizza at The Creek in Blenheim and I had a lovely drop of ale called Roulette, from 666 Brewery in Nelson (Graeme Mahy). Brilliant it was too - off the top of my head I'd describe it as rich, malty and rewarding extra special bitter style with a masterful hop pesonality (this at risk of sounding pedantic is how it tasted to me - bloody good in any other terms). Last time there he had a pale ale styled beer called Gabriel. Great new discovery.

Lucky bugger :oP

Has anyone tried "Sheep Shagger" Apparantly you can only get it on tap at some pub out of christchurch, or so my MIL was telling me...
Never tried it, but I think it's a scotch ale from a Wisconson brewery. I'd surely drink it if I could find it on tap!
There's another beer of that name from the Cairngorm Brewery - I've got the T shirt!
I wrote about Roulette in The Marlborough Express this week...

Thanks Geoff, I read them both - very edifying and absorbing articles those. It is as Reviled said, I'm a lucky bugger indeed! Also had to get ready to hide my glass in case Brian strolled in from Rennaisence next door and saw me sucking back anything other than one of their tapped beverages which are there too! Just can't help philandering when it comes to a good drop!
