Hi All
(Hopefully I didn't miss a thread here, I searched first!)
Just wanted to see if anyone has rhizomes available this year? I hear there is a shortage, however if there are any suppliers anyone knows of I would be keen to given them a go!

Maybe we can get a list of suppliers going? I see in the old forum that Stephen @ Hallertau may have been one of them, any ideas?

Cheers

Its cool ive got two rhyzomes at the mo, waiting till we move house and then ill plant em in the ground..
No probs.

I'll put it out there then... Mike - you'll want some.

Who else wants some Smoothcone Rootstock?
I actually got some citrus-rind type aroma from my smoothcone. Haven't actually used them yet though.

I've harvested around 200 dry grams from my danscade and about the same from my smoothcone, would have got more from the SC but fucking over-dried some (like 100g) in the dehydrator :-(
My Danscade and Smoothcone cuttings where from Joking at the start of January.

The Danscade has a single vine now about 2.5 metres high and about 7 small ones, however is limited to a large pot.

The Smoothcone (Jokone!!) has four vines about 1.5 metres high, it had a hard life to start with, so can't expect much. It does however has an excellent "bush" factor happening at the base.

No cones and don't expect any this year, thus any are a bonus.
Danscade from Jan has flowered, looks to be about an icecream container worth of hops on it; 'cept the whole thing is dying off now... :( I should probably harvest today. Off to the coast for wildfoods too, hopefully I can sneak in an hour of hop harvesting for Kortegast before Wigram gets there next week!

I should be able to bring back about a dozen Kortegast rhizomes too which dad & I propagated earlier in the year.
What?? Does the plant die after it flowers? Or just the flowers???
The whole plant is looking pretty unhealthy and browning at the tips, possibly leaf scorch? I'd say I'm not watering it enough...
Root bound? I have the same issue, and mine get 2 litres every two days.
Yeah, and I haven't watered it much... if at all lately...
The plant dies off during autumn sometime. Will regrow from the rootstock in spring.

And to those talking of cutting up the crown/rootstock during the first year - I would recommend against it, it shocked mine quite bad.

But you can still share the rhizome love. Just hack up some stalks and shit from the upper part of the plant and bury them, they will start to sprout in the spring. Just bury lots because they're not 100% guaranteed to grow. And bury them in pots rather than the soil if you don't want the lost cuttings to dominate that part of the garden.
Hand is up for kortegast if you can spare a couple hundred grams!
Of course! I had you guys in mind. Only problem is, I'd have to do it early Sunday morning... Hopefully those root cuttings which took are healthy, if so I'll bring several over for you guys.
