Excuse my ignorance guys, but I am now fascinated by the notion of Twisted Hop IPA. So if this elixir is cask matured and naturally carbonated I imagine I need to go to Christchurch to try it? Surely it isn't bottled, or is it? Are you lucky enough to get it on tap in Auckland?
Cheers,
Ian
You're right, unfortunately.
The Twisted Hop generoulsy donated a cask to SOBA's homebrew beer festival last year, so a few lucky Wellingtonians got some, but it is generally drunk only after a flight to Chch.
My comment above was a little tongue in cheek. Kempicus has gone all funny over the IPA since his trip down to Chch last weekend.
I had 2 pints last weekend. The first taste is pure grapefruit juice. After that, it turns into a nicely balanced bitter beer.
As I took the last sup of the second I realised it was 6.4% and kicked like a mule. It's dangerously well balanced, much moreso than their other beers I reckon
If you are quick (and down south) a small cask of Twisted Hop IPA is about to go on at Eureka in Dunedin as I type.
The 'Hop boys are not adverse to their beers being taken abroard. We act as 'exclusive' distributor, get your local guv'nor to make contact with me and we can arrange keg or cask varieties to suit. Skull Buggery anyone...???
