Hey guys

The last case swap went really well, it was just between AKL and ChCh, but this time round, if theres some people from Wellington keen to join in, well work something out...

So were planning on doing this again, probably once every three months or so to get feedback on our beers, and to try what everyone else is making... Im hoping this time round we get a few more people keen on this?

We need to do a few things

1. Compile a list of everyone whos keen, then decide how many batches we all do, if theres less people, well do 2 or 3 batches each...

2. Once we know whos in this time, we can vote on a date, which looks like its gonna be mid feb to mid march, depending on what works for everyone...

So ill start this off, im in :o) Who else is keen?

I can confirm that the next set of beers will be brewed at the new, purpose built 0.23hl brewery!
Congrats on the new pad buddy, bet youll have fun customising your new brewery :o)

Also good to see some more interest this time round, 3 people from WLGTN so far which is awesome!!!

So far, assuming Herrschnapps is in again, we have 9 people including myself :o) thats a top effort! Should be good!
Woo hoo!!!! House warming is when?

I may make a keg filler for it!
I'm in.
I'm in..Having felt guilty at the last meeting as I had nowt brewing or brewed...Still....enjoyed Pommeroys :)
As assumed, I'm in... though while I brewed, I felt guilty not staying to enjoy Pommeroys... :p
Pretty keen at this point, will confirm a little later.
I'm brewing kit based beers at the moment. Lot's of experiments. I don't imagine people will want to swap a hard brewed AG beer for a Cherry Kitsperiment beer.

I'll sit this one out, maybe next time.
I used a kit based pilsner + extract in the last swap, I can't see anything wrong with it!
Agreed, the rule is "submit the best you can."

Worst case scenario: You get to taste some awesome homebrew and some great brewers get to give you some feedback on your beer.

Best case scenario: everyone raves about your beer and asks for the recipe
Sorry Mr Cherry but that irritates the shit out of me, there's nothing wrong with Kitsperiment beer! There’s nothing wrong with kit beer, there's nothing wrong with partial mash, there's nothing wrong with dried yeast, there's nothing wrong with extract beer or anything else that isn't the liquid yeast AG Holy Grail! Your falling into the elitism trap of thinking what you produce is less than perfect because of the tools and resources you use!
I refuse to demean myself because i use a kit or extract!
Surely what happened at the homebrew comp showed that you can take a shitty old kit or some extract and brew up some really good beer!
Half of the shit i brewed for the comp was experimental...actually there was only one beer that I’d brewed before!
Hmmm ... my experiments usually turn out crap ...

But on the upside, my favourite beer lately was the extract cascade ale .. all gone .. burrrp ..
Still plodding through an AG Brown Ale with liquid yeast.
Good practices and solid technique make good beer - ooops and good ingredients .. of whatever persuasion.

Cheers, jt
Bad practice, shabby technique brewery
