Agreed that 30litres restricts you to 20 litre batches and thats it... But that can be good to get you started, but if you can get a bigger pot for cheaper, do it!
Just had a look at the Hauraki Home Brew website, and they rock. Great product selection, so I'll be buying all of my future supplies from them. I can't find anyone in the south island that has that much variety. We've got nothing in Hokitika, or Greymouth for that matter. Binn Inn doesn't count as a home brew store.
But, before you get carried away, Brewers Coop, in Mt Wellington is Faaaaaar cheaper for Grains, and once you leap into All Grain, youll want to get your grain from Brewers Coop...
Problem is, he doesnt have a website yet :o(
Just had a thought, is Liberty Brewing up and running yet Stu? Might be cheaper postage wise to order from WLGTN...
Dunedin malthouse has great selection and very helpful. They can be a bit slow though, so a few reminders may be needed. Also have a good selection of yeasts, rumor has it that they are sometimes not that reliable, I haven't had any problems myself.
Best deal IMO. Stainless, sight glass, immersed element (better to add another one and run two if you've got a hole saw) and tap, tap is kinda useless though unless you make a pick up tube to suck from the bottom or you'll have like 3000mL deadspace.
