Don't forget Brewerscoop and Dunedin Malthouse fellas.
I know that full sacks are not that cheap through those guys but we can still do some group buys and base malt and then get specialty through them.
As an aside, I'm really quite interested in starting up a "real" homebrew business in Wellington at some stage but I need some time off to work out if that is viable and how best to do it. Each side of my holiday I've had almost no free time to take a dump, let alone think or plan anything. This is not to say it will happen, and it definitely won't happen soon, but it might just rise from these ashes at some stage.

I know Stu, the prices from out of town aren't toooo bad (well my pricelists are over a year old) and I know that Mike had some reasonable freight rates for upto six sacks from Auckland.
It's just a bummer losing such a great little shop so close to home.
Gotta find new uses for our SOBA cards! (grain discounts were awesome - hopefully more LHBS will follow suit).

I'll be sad to see Liberty stop trading. As far as I'm concerned, Wellington doesn't have a Homebrew shop. Outside of Liberty I haven't purchased any Homebrew ingredients in Wellington this year and don't plan to. For me it's been Liberty, NZ Hops, Craftbrewer & some yeast from RealBeer.co.nz.
I hope I'm not saying something I shouldn't but...
I was talking to Mike from Brewer's Coop a few weeks back, and he was thinking of opening another shop in Wellington, two reasons he was holding back - stepping on toes (mainly the toes of Liberty by the sound of it) and needing someone to run the shop.
Now that one of those things may be out of the way maybe he'd be more inclined to open up, I dunno, just throwing it out there.

Who said that nature abhors a vacuum - very timely indeed
I have no idea who said that, or this - but I do know that a good beer hits the spot.
Jo, is it you that has taken over Liberty?? Congratulations mate! Will be shopping with you for all my little odds and sods of grain, there is no LHS around here to damage anyways!:)
