A book I've found pretty useful as a new AG brewer is The Home Brewer's Answer Book by Ashton Lewis. Brief but reasonably detailed answers to a range of basic through to advanced questions, and easier to search and find than How to Brew and many of the others I've seen.
Fermenting Lagers has a nice chart with different traditional fermentation schedules.
Was using this today and wondered if anyone else was? www.e-malt.com

Another addition to the library with some good PDF downloads...for free. The Scots would love it.
There's some good little mead articles in there too.
May I recommend Beer Calculus as an addition to the brewing software section. It's an online tool, it's free and I used it for a while before switching to BeerSmith.
Another interesting page I have found. Olive Oil instead of oxygenating. Not sure what this would do to head retention but I,m keen to give it a go.http://www.winning-homebrew.com/olive-oil.html
I think if you were to use that micro amount you would need micro equipment to see, read the diffrence. let us know how you got on.
Another link to water additions but it gives some background on what each addition does and how it effects the brewing process as whole:

Cheers, added a link to the original article but through google docs in case anyone doesn't have power point. I hate those stupid pdf/ppt reader websites giving no credit to the original author but whoring out other peoples work and making money off it.

The original article was from North Texas Homebrewers Association (http://www.nthba.org/)

Hi.

I've attached water reports for Lower Hutt and Petone water supplies and the Artesian aquifer on Buick St Petone. These are unavailable from the Lower Hutt CC website but are available on request by email.

Here are a couple water reports for anyone using the Dunedin supply and a quick pic I took of the analysis beside the Speights tap.

I've heard the Speights water gives better results and my experience agrees. I assume because it is from a well/spring. The plan was to use the water report to adjust the main supply to save a trip into town for each brew but I haven't been able to match up the numbers to what How to Brew expects :-(
