Oaked Armageddon today. Intense fruit. Passionfruit, peaches, apricot, aged orange and grapefruit citrus, maybe a hint of lemon plus a couple more we couldn't quite put our finger on. Definitely had that oaked chardonnay thing going on too...
Didn't pick any vanilla, there may have just been too much fruit to bring through those characteristics. Would be interested to hear others tasting notes too.
I swear I was burping hops 6 hours after drinking it! I burped and thought, damn that was fruity and wondered what I had eaten. I realised it was the aftershock of a single pint of oaked army ;-)
Tonight, I've got to work through the keg of Coopers sooner or later and it's not something I'd have two of, so I've had my Friday compulsory pint. Good, not as good as the real thing, but better than the K&K it nearly was
3 Boys Golden - good beer but think I'll struggle with the Sauvin by the end
The Bitza brown needs to make way for Bitza Mk II, there must be only one or two left, so that's my evening
Bitza blew dry so I had a warm Bitza Mk II (SO4 took care of any cascade character so it tastes just like Mk I)
Looking forward to Sunday, with some trepidation. I've already f*cked up the hops for the Hoppy NZ Brown, I have an unknown extra amount in one ofthe early additions ....
Bugger - now, if it turns out to be the best beer you've ever brewed - you've got no idea how to replicate it! Don't worry... I di the exact same thing last Sunday! I ended up chucking more Cascade in at flameout to compensate for the prior stuff up.
OK, I jiggered about with the hops and I'm only 9 grams over and 4 of them went in @ 60
Looks like a couple of additions are going to be a bit of a jumble - but hey now it'sa lucky dip
