Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Drinking my Belgian Pale Ale ATM (Recipe here). Bitterness is a bit high for the subtle yeasty esters, but the malt profile is outstanding. Im starting to wish that I used more Vienna - like probably the whole base would have been wicked.

She's a bit of a thirst quencher... nice malt, toasty buscuit. The yeast has an estery feel with a bit of bubblegum. Bitterness is on the high side though... might pay to leave it in the keg for a few weeks or so.
The bitterness doesnt look like it would be on the high side from the recipe? Especially for you lol :oP

Im just starting to play around with Vienna, been subbing it for munich in a few beers, its alot more subtle but nice, sorta more sweet in a way? Ill be keen to try the Global stuff when I run out...

Im currently drinking my Amarillo Ordinary, only a week and a half in the keg and the nottingham still hasnt dropped out, not to mention chill haze like a biartch, but its tasty, nice subtle Amarillo character thats not quite mandarins, with toasty biscuit malt flavours all the way through! I really wish it had more body tho, 1011 is waay to thin for a beer like this IMO
I'll keep that in mind mate...

You can definately use a lot more of it in a lot of beers. I'm gonna SMaSH it with some Centennial when I get my first shipment.
Yum I reckon a smash with Vienna would be spot on, the Munich II was just a bit too malty and with pils and pale malt its slightly lacking, so theres got to be an in between!! Id be keen as to try it!
Vienna, Northern Brewer and T58 SMaSH is supposed to be the business.
What is SMaSH?

Ta.
Single Malt and Single Hop - supposed to be a good way to discover the character of a malt or hop so you can then have an idea of how it might affect the outcome of a more complex recipe.

I wonder if a useful addition to the Library would be a glossary of all the TLAs, FLAs etc used on the forum - it is a bit confusing for newcomers (I certainly have taken a while to 'get' a lot of them) - eg SMaSH, HLT, MLT, IIPA, MPA, APA, etc etc etc....
Cheers mate, that was easy. With ya on the glossary, it was hard enough getting my head around all the normal brewing terms. Mash this, sparge that, efficiency what?? :P Good times!
especially when you finally work out that 'sparge' just means 'rinse', and 'mash' just means 'soak at a particular temperature', 'hot liquor tank' is just a hot water container, and 'pitch' means 'add' etc etc - it all sounds so mysterious and complicated when you first hear it......... (oh, and 'Tui' just means 'shite'......but this is admittedly a potentially confusing one because a lot of other terms have the same meaning - like 'Lion Red', 'Monteiths Radler', 'Speights Ale', 'DB Draught' etc)
I wonder if a useful addition to the Library would be a glossary of all the TLAs, FLAs

Will get onto it tomorrow, good idea mate.
More a case of what am I not drinking. I was planning to go to Galbraiths tomorrow night for some Pride of Warminster IPA but because of the bus strike I have no way of getting home, unless I get a lift home at 5 o'clock with my boss. Either that or spend a small fortune on a cab.

Damn those greedy NZ Bus w***ers.
Armageddon. Batch II. It's wonderful.
