Anyone had any brewing experience with NZ Malteurope 2 Row Pale Pilsner Malt (sold by The Brewhouse in Wlg)...?
I'm thinking of trying my hand at a Marzen beer, looking for a good pilsner base malt and I'm tossing up between...
Thinking of having a 50-50 base split between pilsner and munich malts for the marzen style.
My experience with brewing lagers and pilsners is very slight.. so any opinions on the 3 above malts would be welcome.

I've used both Bohemian Pilsner & Weyermann Pilsner with great results. Either would be great in a Marzen I reckon.
I've never used Malteurop simply because when I brew with pils malt it's usually for a beer where the base is fundamental to the style. I've always seen Malteurop Pils as a lower quality malt than Weyermann but that it's OK if you're gonna add plenty of other character malts. Maybe someone will correct me...
Hi Grant, I had this same question a while ago: http://www.forum.realbeer.co.nz/forum/topics/malturop-pilsen-malt?x...
I bought a sack and was very pleased with the results; although, like jt, I only made ales.
Thanks.
Guess I'll have to try them all over time. Maybe I'll get a couple of kilos of both and make 4litre batches of test brew with each to find my preference.
HI Grant , i have sold a lot of ME pils EBC of 3-4 and every one is happy whit it
some are doing 90 min boils and some are doing 60 min , i have been doing 60 min and very happy
good malt at a good price
Yeah.. gonna give them all a go.
Going to brew 3 small Marzen style beers but only change the base pilsner malt. It'll be interesting to see/taste the difference.
