Hi all, I have recently moved up to Welly from the craft beer capital that is Christchurch an am struggling to find anywhere to buy brewing supplies. Do Wellingtonians not brew beer?!

there's great expectations in lower hutt, but if people are like me, we'd tend to buy from liberty brewing anyways.

As per above, online shopping is your friend. If I don't use liberty i use http://www.brewshop.co.nz/. I've heard good things about www.brewerscoop.co.nz as well.

 

and hell yeah we brew beer! go into hashigo zake and talk to the guys behind the bar. Nearly all of them homebrew. check out regional wine and spirits as well. best place to buy beer especially by the rigger/growler or whatever you want to call them

For anything that you can't get through Liberty you could try Dunedin Malt House, they carry a decent selection of fresh Wyeast etc. http://www.dunedinmalthouse.co.nz

I was astounded at the freight rate from DMH on sacks of grain when the North Welly brewers put an order together last year .. almost as cheap as a local courier.

 

But the rate from Auckland continues to absolutely baffle me

 

And the service from Liberty is almost as good as popping round to pick it up yourself

Many thanks guys, looks like online is the way to go! I had previously been buying my ingred's from the charming chaps at Wigram brewery in CHCH. My first Wellington brew shal be under way as soon as the courier gets here...
