Ok, I'm going to do it, but maybe not quite yet. And there was talk about an Imperial Coopers. I know Mr Cherry's keen too, yes ?

I thought it might be handy to string this together in one place.

Now I'm not going to brew until the weather cools a bit, I'm getting 20C + in the garage right now and I wouldn't want to do that to my Coopers kit would I ?

First questions first though, Draught or Lager ?
Next up, what to add to it.
Not sugar, no. maybe dextrose, maybe LME, or maybe just a kg of pale mashed ?

Could you have comprehended cold conditioning in 1987 Mr Cherry
Hell no! I had a fermenter in my bedroom wrapped in a sleeping bag and sniffed the airlock every morning before heading off to school. Didn't even have plastic bottles. Crates of 735ml bottles and a crate of flagons with screw on lids. 7-10 days in the fermenter and then two weeks in the bottles, just like the instructions said :)
I have this vague memory of Coopers lager tasting 'crisp and refreshing' ... maybe it's the crisp apple that Chris is refering to .... but when you compare it to the beer on offer at the time, it was a damned fine alternative ... could still be ...
Memories (1987,88etc) of (Not sure who made the kit) Premium Extra Malt & one attempt in particular that was extremely good. Never managed to get another like it. There were Coopers & Muntons & IronMaster kits around then too. Most of my brews were fermented in the hotwater cupboard or a fridge with the old lamp on a thermostat. Now I have fridges to calm fermentation and use grains & hops in preference to kits.

Would be a bit of fun to get a Coopers Lager kit & tweak it with some additions.
Yeah i'm in. I need to use this kit at some point. I also have a bunch of smoothcone growing in the backyard that will need a home soon. Green hopped brewcraft lager anyone?!
Don't do it !

Save those hops for something worthwhile !
I thought this was worthwhile.... ;-)

I may end up having to do two harvests anyway. A bunch of new flowers have just blossomed.

Get a room Sugar and Coopers!!!
D'ya like the way the lid of the sugar jar is winkin' at ya Mike ?
I didnt see it winking at me!!!! I saw it winking at any Macro brewerys around the universe!!! (except the belgians as they do good with it)
(except the belgians as they do good with it)

Aren't the Britz keen on sugar in their ales, thought it was quite common, almost standard in all but the most PC of brewers ?
You can always make it more like Budweiser and add some rice to the photo.
