Has any one discovered a cheaper source for vaccume sealer bags?
I brought an adman sealer from the warewhare and have been looking for some
cheaper bags Theres a few about on trade me but none of them seem to be keen to answer
my questions about the surface of the bags?
The foodsealer and adman bags have a slight ribbing on (no not for her pleasure)
them which seems to aid the vaccum when I have tried plain smooth plastic bags the
vaccum doesnt seem to work so well or at all !

You need those channels otherwise when the two flat surfaces meet it seals and the rest of the air in the bag doesn't vacuum out.

The bags from the warehouse are heaps cheaper than the 'real deal' Sunbeam Foodsaver ones, like half the price I think. I just use the ones from warehouse, but they only do them in rolls and I'd prefer pre-made bags but meh...

I'm pretty sure they're the only local option besides trademe. I've seen good deals on ebay but dunno if they'd work out with shipping price.
Cheers. The responses from trade me came through this morning and they are all smooth bags :-( bloody good deal tho $20 for 100 off 200x300 bags. bugger back to the warehouse I go! Im sure there must be a better way!!
Adman rolls are quite cheap 2 x sm & 2 x lrg for $30??
I think the warehouse ones are the Admans, I threw the bag out and can't remember now.

I've been considering buying one of those handheld bag sealers - the ones that don't vacuum, just heat seal - so that I can quickly make bags out of the rolls. I usually cut the piece off the roll and then split it in half, so I'm making three seals for every bag, turns into a prick when you do an IPA or something and have to make like 4 or 5 different bags in one shot.
Yep they are adman they are $16.99 for one wide and one narrow roll the rolls are 3m long
I still reckon thats daylight robbery but oh well they are awesome!
Three seals for each bag does sound painfull !!!
Yeah, same ones I got, they last me ages and I go through a bit of hops.

Just make them bigger than you need so if you only take out a few grams they're still easy to seal.

Also I think they're microwave safe so should be all good in the dishwasher so you could wash and reuse them. A couple of times I've washed them with hot tap water and used them a second time and that seemed all good.
