Hi everyone,

I have been looking around for a company/supplier who imports American beer into New Zealand. I am particularly interested in finding someone who imports Kegs of Budweiser - or someone who can offer me this service.
All my searches so far have lead to dead ends; can anyone help me at all? I am fully aware of the madness of this request especially since i am only looking for one keg of Budweiser!!
This is important to me and will go to whatever lengths i can to get one.

Thanks in advance,
Rochelle

You could always get someone to brew a clone. Pilsner malt, fair whack of flaked rice, some corn too. 10-15 ibus of cascade. S-05 @ 15 degrees. Meh. Never tried Budwieser; have no real intention of doing so. But hey, whatever makes you happy right?
Clone's aren't the same thing....

I know we take the piss out of Bud, but it is a good thirst quencher.... better than the water in some parts of the States!
Of course, but if you can't get it in, then what else can ya' do?
it is piss & i would dare drink it. i like to taste beer when i have a drink not like this water mixture! i can't believe its such a hassle to find a keg but i've started this and i need to get one quick smart. my final final....deadline is August 10th
You do make a point James. Years (a lot of years) ago we spent some eight month living on a boat in the Caribbean and when I was varnishing the rub rails from the dinghy and wanted a couple of cold thirst quenchers without falling out of the boat, then Bud did the job well. That's as patronising as I can get about it though.
Ah, a sailing man? And the brewery is on Crabb's penninsula I see. But we spent time there in 1984 and I'm not sure that beer was around then or you can be sure we'd have been into it in a big way.
A Big Thanks for every bodies input! Especially in invaluable information about what beer is better that others....like i care!

I'll keep on looking else where for someone who might be able to answer my question & point me in the right direction!!

Thanks guys.
May I suggest you just get a hold of a Budweiser tap badge and put the cleanest palest lager you can find on tap... nobody will know the difference from drinking it. I'm just not sure what the cleanest lager is. They're hard to find in NZ as our pale lagers tend to be sweet and a little estery. Maybe Steinlager Pure? I'm not sure I've only sniffed it and that was 18 months ago. Someone else may have a suggestion regarding which beer you could substitute.

Cheers

Or buy whole lot of slabs of Budwieser, damn-near freeze it, get an empty keg and pour it all in (slowly!). There's only so much we can do to help with a pretty unusual request.
Tnks HerrSchmapps, would that work?? really really? or would it end up flat?
It would work but I'm picking you don't have access to corny kegs and regulators and such!
Rochelle, I'd suggest your search will be fruitless. It's not a beer that's made here under license (like Guiness, Carlsberg etc) so you would have to get it from an importer / distributor which will be impossible as nothing really much comes our way out of the US. The cost of return freight of the empty keg alone would be worth more than the beer inside it. If you want the original,I'd suggest bottles / cans will be as close as you get.

Cheers....CB
