I may be missing the obvious - kegging and font placement

IF i stick a font on top of the chest freezer (whenever I find one cheap enough), verus putting a tap through a wooden collar.. Wont the font hit the wall behind the chest freezer everytime you need to open it...or do people use them with the non hinged side against the wall and it juts out a bit more into the garage etc...( Thinking of rectangular chest freezer here)

Just a thought the other day when I was standing in the space dreaming of the setup...Call me sad!

You are quite right on this matter Ged. My taps (on the keggorator of death) would quite likely hit the wall if I were not careful enough.
Nah, good on ya for thinking it out.

To be honest I've never seen a chest with a font on it. Usually just the small 'beer fridges'. But yeah, unless the font was easily removable you'd want it away from the wall.

What makes you go against the collar idea (if you don't already have a font)? Personally I'd go with the collar, means you can buy a couple of taps and then cheaply add more later. Although the fonts do look VERY nice.
Ok..Got it...Either stick the freezer a bit away from the wall or use a collar...Probably like the ' look' of fonts more having seen a couple of the keggerators pictured but agree taps are nice as well..Lets face it...if it delivers beer at the correct pressure and gives good head then it must be okay...Just need to convince the Mrs of the latter...She's got the beer delivery bit working well...:)

Thx chaps
