Hey, so I'm thinking about getting a 2L conical flask off labwarehouse.co.nz for yeast starters, but because I'm a tight student I really don't want to pay half the cost of the flask in shipping. So, does anyone in ChCh want to get something from the Lab warehouse and combine the order and save on shipping?

A number of issues evolved as the build progressed and I'll have a think tonight and list out what I'd change next time...Happy to talk you guys through if you need some info...I'll list out the parts I bought from Jaycar...I've included a couple of photos...First is the box and the second is it easily pulling a vortex in 1.6 litres of water.

Okay nearly done... except someone (^^^^^^^^) got all the right size earth magnets.. so I can't finish until I go and open some hard drives.

I'm going to start again... I need a bigger box to keep it in!

Excuse the crappy web cam, can't find the digital camera.

oh yeah...I think that was one of the last pack of magnets but they were getting more in asap she said...Nice light...Thought about an illuminated switch then saw a wiring diagram and crapped it :)
I didn't have a wiring diagram, that is why I found out I had wired it back to front.... little bit more time and solder and away it went! (oops)
Hmm, well at least you two have done the hard yards... I think I'll just copy! I've finally gotten the soldering iron and fan sorted, so I'm off to Jaycar tomorrow; if they have the magnets in stock I'll pick up a 4 pack and drop two off with you at work tomorrow on the way back?
That would be magic! Otherwise I'll rip into these hard drives Thursday night.

Try and get a jiffy box (enclosure) as big as you can get. I have run out of room with the one I have.
Have you bought an 80mm or 120mm fan james? I read about using a 120mm but then realised how big a box I would need to stick it into....The box you originally bought works fine but switches need to go at the end I found otherwise its bloody tight...
Hey what size Rare earth magnets do you guys use for your stirplates?
Hi Mike

Mine are about 1 cm across and around 8mm thick. This is the product from jaycar. Pack of 4 but you'll only use 2.
