If you had a time travel device like the one attached, what beer events would you visit? what beer orientated things would you do?
I'd shoot off to Pilsner Urquell to see if it was better back in the day....

I'd have to head back to get true yeast strains from a selection of pilsners.
That's a beauty! I think I'd nip over to Ship Cove and back to Cook's days there. They made a brew using water from the stream that still runs there and I could taste the brew and see whether it bore any resemblance to the Mussel Inn's Captain Cooker. That is if the matelots would share any.
Cheers,
Ian
Probably London in the late 18th/early19th C to taste some of the original porters, or maybe whenever the first IPAs were being created.

MMMmmmm, twisted hop IPA
That's my other one, Check out a traditional IPA see if they're as hoppy as i hope they are

TWISTED HOP IPA of course is the ultimate!
Back to the magical defining moment in brewing and Hop history when Super Alpha was discovered in the wilds of Motueka .. of course :)))
Back to Otahuhu in the 50's (?) to taste the first batch of DB's continuous fermentation beer.

Seriously, I'm with Rusty on this one - Taste IPA's or Burton pale ales from the 19th century
I would go and see the Egypitian who created beer and give him a beer as he earnt one!!
Imagine having a case swap with an egyptian!!!
He might need encouragment to participate as it was an experiment.
I'd go back and not brew my first, kit and kilo, and brew a real extract beer instead.

IPA's would be good. So would the original Steam Beers and pre-prohibition American beers.
Good thread Kempicus. Me, I'd visit India and get some of that first successful shipment of IPA. I'd then hijack one of those ships and pirate me a bit of fresh IPA. Then I'd catch up with Denimglen over in San Francisco. Then I'd come and visit you over in bohemia and get a bit drunk - and see if I coud work the time machine incapacitated. I imagine that I'd wake up somewhere with a bad hangover trying to figure out what the historical beer connection was in order to understand where I am. Then i'd try and find the time machine and do it all over again.
I reckon i'd go back and slap King Henry the VIII around a bit for banning the use of hops!
