I have one of these. It is way overkill for my 50L pot so should be fine with 80L.

I haven't had to modify mine in any way, I just use a regular 9kg LPG bottle. I don't know anything about the technical details with regards to compatibility but mine has been running fine for 3 years.
Looked at getting a a different Bayou burner over amazon just last week but the price was too expensive. Just for kicks, I checked out how much this unit would cost. It is $75 NZ but shipping is $100.
You can find a unit in NZ with the same burner and compatible regulator, but different frame, for about $130-$140 NZ.
Still, I so wish someone sold Bayou burners in NZ. They look great.
Exactly. Looks like the same burner but a stronger, larger stand.
Just checked my amazon order history, I paid US$105.30 including postage.

For anyone who is interested, I ended up investing in an adjustable regulator (0-10 PSI) to accompany my current Campmaster triple ring. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=899592801 this is the one I bought. I have high hopes and will post back here with a comparison vs. the factory regulator (1.5 PSI) that came with the burner.
It would be interesting to hear your results. I think I have read of people using these with up to 30 psi? Could this be correct? How safe could is this really?
I've got a two ring burner from ages ago that sees little use and i would love to repurpose it if possible.
from my experience a 3 ring is a pain to tune, wind up with soot on the pot base etc. I had one and went for a mongolian 23 tip instead, much better, it gets 80 l to the boil no trouble.
Regulator got lost in the mail. Typical. I have heard or read that the Mongolian burners can melt pots if they are too close to the base. Is that true?
