Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and to brewing as well and I am finding this site very useful at answering my many questions. 

I am in the middle of my fourth brew which is an all grain amber ale that I made in a 4L batch (in case I stuffed up and wasted loads of ingredients!).

I want to try dry hopping this time also but I am unsure when to do so.  The brew has been fermenting for just over a week and the airlock is still bubbling every now and then. There is also about an inch of cold break material on the surface that floated up from the bottom a couple of days ago.

Is it ok to dry hop with this gunk in there, or should I wait until it settles again?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Have a listen to that Ryan, aswell as many of the other shows in the archive. There is a ton of good info in them.

I always dry hop for the last 5 days of fermentation regardless of whatever gunk is floating around the fermenter. 

Sounds good, might give it a couple of days then chuck it in.  Cheers.

good time to dry hop as hopefully there is enough co2 being created to disperse any oxygen being introduced with the hops!!!
