Perlick Faucets in NZ?

Hi guys,

I'm hoping to find out whether there is a local supplier of Perlick faucets and shanks - particularly I'm looking for the Perl with creamer. 

I see there is a supplier called Bracton Beer Taps which says it is the supplier for Oceania, but I don't see any New Zealand distributors on their site.

Any idea whether these are sold in NZ? If not, what is your recommendation for a faucet that can be sourced here?

Another related question if you don't mind. Are most shanks going to fit a Perlick faucet or are they custom made to fit only their own shanks? I'm thinking I might just purchase the taps from the US and see if I can source shanks locally. 

I don't know a whole lot about taps, as these will be my first, so I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I'm going to need to set up taps in a wooden keezer collar. Any recommendations for reading appreciated.

personally when I had a go at that, I found it was much cheaper to just buy complete sets from the US of tap + shanks + tails, ie http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perlick-525SS-Tap-Faucet-Stainless-Beer-Sha...

I bought some Perlick taps in from the states and thought I'd be smart and reuse some shanks I had here already - got bitten when they didn't fit the Perlick's - I'd order the shanks with the taps and save yourself a potential headache.

Yup, I ended up grabbing the taps and shanks from ebay together. Unfortunately I hadn't realised that this didn't include the tails, so that's going to be a bit frustrating when they arrive. That said, that's probably the easiest part to find a solution for as I should be able to buy tails locally and attach them with an adapter fitting.

Thanks for this - taps and shanks purchased from eBay. Hopefully they will be worth every penny (or tuataraed 5c coin in our case).

No clue if this includes tails, but assuming they are easy to source locally?

Well, it was a couple of years ago when I did the exercise myself but I found that for almost any hardware it was cheaper (and often easier) to get overseas. Few more shops have opened since then so maybe you'll have a different experience.
