I'm looking at buying a wort chiller and it seems that it's much cheaper to get one from the US. I can get a 3/8" x 50' Copper Wort Chiller delivered for around $NZ150. It's impossible to get anything near the price or quality in NZ. I'd rather buy local so if anyone can point me to something of similar quality for a good price then I'll buy from NZ. The price of copper here is even more than the cost of one delivered.

The main thing I want to know is has anyone purchased any from this site?

They seem to have a great range but I'm worried that the hose fitting are different in the US - does anyone know if they are the same as NZ?

I also like the look of the 3/8 Stainless Steel Chiller over the copper - would there be much of a difference? It's a nice looking piece of equipment!

Thanks!

A lot of people here just find someone that sells the copper for cheap and make it themselves. Usually about $70 for 15m of copper if you get a deal?

I'm a bit worried that I might stuff it up!

There's this guy on trade me but he hasn't had any for ages. Anyone know of someone else that's cheap? If I could get something for $70 I'd be happy to make my own. As long as it's not too hard - I've seen some awful examples on the internet!

There is a description here - http://www.stickybottlebrew.com/index.php?option=com_content&vi... which is obviously more involved but the same principles apply for a single coil...  You might also have a look around on the web for a detailed video.....

Try brassman123@hotmail.com (I think it's the same guy on trademe).

I got 20m of 12.7mm OD copper piping from him, arrived this week for my HERMS setup. Try emailing him - I did out of the blue last week and he happened to have some copper for sale.

I'm looking into this atm but not having much better luck.  Rough prices from prototype stainless (6m long) with crox ends was about $100 (manufactured) but if I buy it from the states its only $47.  The raw stainless pipe is more than that in NZ

This guy has nice ones on trade me, 15 metres for $160 + $10 packaging + courier or 7.5 metre for $110 + $10 packaging + courier. They are really nice but still cheaper from the US!

If there is someone out there that can make them like this guy but cheaper they could make a lot of money!

There is also the custom ones that I do but I cant compete with  the US pricing that's for sure...

I have ordered ss coil from NY brew supplies no problems.

There's a full 3 tier brewery for sale here and it's only at $100 so far - includes an immersion chiller. Also selling some copper tubing - see other listings..
