I understand that some cheaper pumps have made their way around NZ lately. Does anyone have an idea where I can find a cheaper pump that is food grade, and can handle boiling wort?
My March pump may be fubar now. However, even if it is OK, I hope to get a second pump.

That's another plus for the Resun pump (well at least the one I got), it has a threaded outlet. it is plastic so just be careful with threading valves, etc. into it so you don't strip or cross thread.
Jo managed to put a thread on the Tempercons he brought in, presumably using a die.
Is the general consensus that a March pump is better than Tempercon or Resun?
I have a quote for the March 809-PL-HS (http://www.pumpmachinery.co.nz/home-craft-brewing) around $320, a bit over double the price of the resun pump that Matt linked (about $130 all up).
But it might be worth the extra cost, if it handles boiling wort without failure (i.e. using it to whirlpool).
I use a march pump and I must be the only one as I really don't think they are that great for the money, I am thinking about getting one of these wee fellas
