I was going to brew yesterday but the kids have been ill. They are now ok and so i am good to brew tomorrow. Thing is i have roughly about 100ml yeast slurry and so need to do a starter. Will there be enough growth in 12-14 hours??

Or will i need to wait till the weekend??

It depends on how active your slurry is, whether you have a stir plate and what sort of gravity you are pitching. What yeast are you wanting to pitch?

It was your denny's 50 that you gave me. I've decided to just go ahead and brew anyway but i'll probably just pick up some dried yeast to do the job. I've got the day booked off so might as well brew. Gravity was 1.053 for 21L. Still no stir plate as yet. I'm needing 205b cells. Cheers

100ml was a guess - measured volume in jar, turns out it was only about 40ml.

Do you know what i should set the viability to on Mr Malty for this situation??

I'm building it up in a starter anyway.

Yeh, that Dennys does not get up and going terribly quickly from memory, and without a stir plate which would help it grow quicker I would say go for some dried yeast for your brew?

Attenuation using Dennys (apparent) -

Pale ale 74%, 1048 to 1012

Brown 76% 1057 to 1013

Best Bitter 67% 1044 to 1014

IPA 67% 1070 to 1022
