Hey, just wanted to share a good source for muslin cloth. That's right, I see you, person from the future who is searching for this. I use it for lining my cider press, but it has been known to find duty as a hopsocks, grain steeping bags, or improvised filtering of a very stuck imperial stout.
These guys make it: http://www.wholesalehardware.co.nz/ . I finally went out and saw them instead of bludging some off a butcher or paying way too much at spotlight etc etc, and was suprised at how cheap it was for me to get a 2.5kg roll (70ish metres). i.e. 2 days of lunch money cheap. I certainly won't be rinsing out my press lining cloths and reusing anymore - out it comes and straight into the bin pulp and all.
They do multiple grades, so if you want it fine weave / coarse weave it isn't a drama.
Hope that helps someone!
