Lots of excitement for me with beer brewing stuff, (girlfriend does not seem to care), but check this beasty out

http://www.crankandstein.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5

It's being air freighted in two boxes, and cost $480 nz, love that weak US dollar.

Has anyone got one of these ?

You're in The Bay right??? Might have to start up a grinding service for us guys who can't afford the big toys haha!!!

Yip. I have one, brought it back from the states. It sure feels like a good mill, but I am getting a bugger of a time to get it set right.

Michael, are you talking about getting the gaps right for efficiency? Is yours a 3 roller or a two.

Sorry Nathan, I am a JAFFA with toys (no audi though).

basically I milled the grain into a lot of flour and destryed the husks...it was not just cracked/crushed.

My mill is a 3 roller crank & stein. I think the issue I had was from too small of a gap and too fast of a motor. As such, I now have a .hp hp motor at 1425 RPM, and need a 1inch pulley, and a 1 foot puller to gear it down to 200 rpm. (I used a drill initially. Using a hand crank on this bugger was a nightmare.)

Yeah there is a bit of down gearing needed it seems, I am looking around for bits now. I might stick it onto my saw bench..

Am I missing something, isn't 1:12 ratio going to give you more around the 120 RPM mark? Although I alway read that 200 RPM was good for the 1.5" diameter rollers so for a 2" roller around 120-150 would be about that same anyway.
