Hey mate - are you in the office today? I'm in Wellington today & tomorrow - hoping to get a drop or two of Hop Zombie at the Malthouse tonight.

Another good American amber.  To be honest I drank this a bit too cold so I only apprecuiated the hops towards the end.  Lovely clear coppery amber colour, big pillowy head that lasted the whole way down the glass. Caramelly malt flavours with a good level of bitterness and hop flavour to match.  I did pick up maybe a hint of hot alchohol but I couldn't quite decide.  I often pick it up in my own beers so I tend to look for it even if it not really there.

Good work Jacko . Cheers

I loved this one.. Very nice over all, love the solid malt backbone and the subtle hop aromas and flavours... me and Centennial always get along well...

Thanks for the swap dude, even my wife liked it and she has always had a squinty eye for beer..

Great work cheers... \m/

Pours a slightly hazy dark copper with no head. Aroma of toffee and caramel straight out of the fridge which comes through on the flavour along with a good whack of bitterness and then a lingering hop flavour. The perfect beer with my pizza :)

Cheers mate. Delicious!
Mmm, yummy. More restrained than I was expecting, could be the hops have faded a bit? Shit, we've got to get through these beers faster. Couldn't pick any obvious flaws in it so I ended up just sitting back and enjoying it after a brew day, so not much in the way of descriptors sorry. Slight haze, pleasantly low carb. Lingering pomelo (that's right, pomelo) bitterness. There is a note in there I'm not used to... Maybe the ahtanum? Well brewed mate, thanks.

I really enjoyed this bad boy. I indulged after a (pretty righteous) roast duck l'orange. Like the others have said, poured cloudy, with little head. In the nose got honey, apricots, and caramel.  Good caramel flavours, and quite a dry finish with a bit of toffee. Sounds like you've got the base for a pretty solid brew there mate.

What do you reckon the Ahtanum brought to the party?

Cheers!

Thanks for your feedback guys. Stu, I think the ahtanum is quite a soft hop and I don't remember it coming through that much. It's been a while since I had one of these though. I only have 1 left and was leaving it to taste once all the feedback was in. Must be close by now so I reckon I'll crack this on the weekend and let you know what I think then.
