Allrighty, I have mixed opinions about this beer, some have tried it and told me it was shit, others have told me its good, and others ok, so ive decided to put it in the CS to try and get some honest feedback, and please do be honest!!

This beer was a bit of an experiment, to get an idea for Carabohemian, which I found out is veeeery dry, veeeeery malty, but still very tasty (when used well)! Even if you dont like the beer it can give you an idea of the malt for future use, which I have started to really like personally!

Glad you got one with carbonation this time bro ;o) haha
Had this last week... didn't take notes but I remember it pretty well.

Punched all the right buttons for a dubbel but had that extra bit of interest that I really liked (classic Dubbels, in general, don't really do it for me). Dark fruits and sweetness on the nose... there's a bit of spice, is it yeast or rye? (that's rhetorical, I'm thinking aloud). Pretty sweet and showing nice alcohol notes in the mouth but then has this nice, slightly tart, spicy finish. Quite complex and I really struggled to pick a reference point off it. There's a flavour or two in there that I couldn't quite pick. Good beer, and it helped me get a little glow on while making dinner.

I like this beer and i'm glad I've got the 3711 in the fridge at home as it seems like a yeast worth playing with.

Carbonation was probably at the low end but that works for me.
Wow cheers Stu, thats some pretty good feedback...

I got owned at Hallertau on saturday with this beer, it wasnt being judged but the general feedback wasnt very good lol
I enjoyed it... I don't know what sort of feedback you got, and I'd be interested to know what it was, but I sometimes I find that people "judge" a beer for what they think it should be rather than what it really is. Sometimes the name is half the problem (I certainly found that out, commercially, with Kid Chocolate... everyone was picking this "chocolate" character that I don't think was really there).

I am mad on styles, and consider myself to know them better than most, but I never ever brew to them. Sure they influence my thought process but they are never the end goal. This seems like that kind of beer.
General feedback from everyone was that it had a burnt aroma and an astringent finish to it, which is probably the dryness... I guess it didnt help that I handed it over saying it was a crap beer - but Jo does that all the time and it doesnt change my opinion of his beers haha

I feel the same way about styles, some of the best beers ive brewed have been totally out of style!!
they're secretly just thinking "where's the hops????"

heathens!
I,m convinced anyone who can make a good beer with Rye is a god...or has sold thier soul to the devil. This just didn't float my boat and I found it a bit soapy but I've no idea where that may have come from. Sorry mate but I just found it had a real strange taste and mouthfeel that I couldn't get my tastebuds around. On the upside, I found the aroma a bit spicy and I quite liked it but the taste just didn't match it.
