I'm in need of some inspiration with my brewing, so I have come up with a fun idea: a homebrew competition.

Send me a bottle of your favourite homebrew/s. I'll pick my favourite beer, and the winner gets his recipe back as ingredients i.e. the malt and hops or equivalent substitute that went into making the batch. AND I will include your recipe as a kit on libertybrewing (with your permission of course)

It doesn't matter what style it is - I'll pick my favourite beer.

Best of all - your entry is FREE!!!!!

I'll update the progress on this thread.

Send me a P.M for my address. Entries close 28-2-10.

Cheers.

Wicked! I'm glad to see some interest being generated!
Goddamn, gotta get my thinking cap on and send you something good!

Nice way to get a heap of different beers without being in the Case Swap ;o)
I'll send you something but who knows what... I'm hoping to get one more brew in this weekend to make three in a row! The last two have been session strength so this next one might be big.

I almost wish it was the last 330ml bottle of Red Rackham I was sending but I drunk it at lunchtime yesterday as I was brewing. The time on its own in the cellar had helped it turn into the beer I always wanted to to be. Just a shade undercarbonated but all of the flavours I wanted were there. It was the kind of beer that loads of people would think is nothing sepcial until they'd had 6 pints and wanted a 7th...

Now, considering this beer was bottled straight from a picnic tap over 6 months ago, I rest my case in the "state versus homebrewers who bottle straight from the picnic tap". One caveat... beer must be unfiltered.

That's good to hear. There have been so many beer that I couldn't get through in the keg and wanted to bottle them. One question though: did you steralise your tap?
Nope... and bottles are just given a hot cycle in the dishwasher rather than sanitised. I rinse thoroughly after use and then store them in a box until ready for a run in the dishwasher.
Mate you've got the perlick/ventmatic/shirron taps - rock this shit like I do.

Just get a piece of 3/8" copper, flare the end and wrap some thread tape around the copper under the flare to help it seal. - viola.
cool website Glen
Yeah, those guys have come up with some pretty crazy shit!
I do the same as Stu and havnt had any problems before!
Question on bottling from a picnic tap Stu - I tried straight from the tap and got about a third of the bottle as foam. So I thought I'd have a crack using my racking/bottling cane, and it doesn't fit the tap... What do you use to make sure you don't just make a giant mess everywhere?
Carb your beer right bro and it will be spot on!! If anything carb it a touch more to where you like it and it will be spot on. another tip is to carb your beer right and having balanced lines or flow controlers that way you will get beer out from your tap not foam!! Trust me you can get foam from 0 carb also!!
