Thought it might be handy to have a thread for some of the more advanced brewers to give some advice on recipes.

Let's see how it goes eh...

SO4 ?
Ewwww hell no.
I came to like my SO4 Ale - it just took longer than I was prepared to wait - read keg finished before it came good
Yeah im not really keen to try S-04 again, have really not enjoyed it in anything other than dark beers in the past... Even then, I feel if I had used a different strain I could have got better results...

I could use 1469, but ive been thrashing that atm, im considering trying to resurrect some 1026 british cask and trying that... Anyone else used 1026 in a hoppy beer? Was it Jo's beer I tried that I slightly recall???

Any suggestions would be excellent!
Yum... Acidulated malt is awesome.
Someone told me it was good for knocking the pH around a bit! :)
Issues getting to brew this beer over the last couple of weeks, however due to last minute changes in my agenda for today I'm now halfway through the mash on my hop rocker clone... weather's is crap, it's cold but I hit my temperature, pH and mineral additions which great considering I didn't arrange anything last night.

My neighbour was very inquisitive at 5:30am when I was making a racket with milling my grains (swearing at the drill, throwing buckets at the garage door etc!), so he's coming back after work today to check out my gear (Yes come enjoy my addiction, it will soon engulf your life too).
I'd be a bit suspect of your neighbour being about at 5.30am - I mean it's just not normal being about at that time ...
I used to think that too jt, however he is a courier driver and it's the first time I woke him up instead of the other way around!

Damn it, stuck sparge... twice... I have to sort out my mill it seems that I am either running it too quickly or the gap is too fine. If only I could find my gauges. I'm draining at about 1.5 ~ 2 litres a minute.. any suggestions?
Swearing, cursing, lots of it, blaspheming, threats, viscous ones.
Won't help your mash, might make you feel better though ?
