Renaissance's seasonal release, Paradox, is just awesome IMO... It reminds me of some of the really hoppy refreshing Pale Ales that I like to brew, just not as bitter :oP lol

If you see it around, you should most definately try it! Chock full of Riwaka hops, nice balance between the hops and the malt, good body, all round a really good beer! An awesome quaffer for a hot summers day, my bottle didnt last very long thats for sure... :o)

IMO it kicks Perfections ass, which was previously my favourite Renaissance beer...

$1499 to LA @ the moment with Air NZ cant you do it all from here anyway? just order the amounts from brewerys, have them shipped to my contact who just happens to own a freighting company in LA, shipping containers weekly to nz pay the freight 200US a pellet last time I shipped, pay GST and any other tax they may impose. Is it that easy?

l. al. is abbreviated "Litre of Alcohol" example if there is 100 Litres of 5% beer, there would be 5 Litres of pure alcohol in it. You would have to pay $24.765 for each L.al

Then, you'd have to pay GST on the L.al - and the value of the cargo.

Still be worth it though.

Yeah I would love to know what tax need to be paid? It could be very tempting!! Its a good price for shipping!! 800kg of USA finest!! Gees I even Have a fork lift here to unload the truck at this end!!

Lets say you get 800 kilos which would roughly equate to 500Litres of booze. I'd say the average percantage of alcohol in the liquor would be around 6% depending on how much variety you choose. Thats 30 litres of pure alcohol, and at 24.765 per L.al, thats $742.95 +GST = $835.82. Then there is the GST on the Cargo, Lets say your purchase price is $3 for a 12oz of beer. Thats $9 per Litre. times 500 Litres = $4500. GST is 12.5% so $562.50 + $835.82 = $1398.32 plus your inital purchase of $4500.

$5898.32 for 500 Litres of US Beer Landed in NZ. Plus shipping.

Thats $3.93 per stubbie. or $11.73 per litre. (Plus shipping)

You'd need an importers licence, or to work with an agent. More $$$.

This sort of thing is best done by someone who is going to make a little money for taking the risk and doing the work.

Spoke to customs and it is all correct on our calc's Just need to find pricing for bottles!! any one know the pricing for a bottle of Rogue or Pliny or similar?
