How long do Crystal malts keep for in dry, fairly cool conditions? I've got about 150-200kgs of various crystal malts that are a few years old, is it worth using them?

'not quite up there' ?
Maybe not, but they've been there for a damned long time and seen a few come & go
I'd rather a Coopers than a Tui

Indeed. I would drink a Cooper's stout occasionally, oxidation and all. It is not a top notch brewery like the craft beers often are, but some of its beers are passable for a short session.

Tui? Great Bird. Bad Beer.

Yeah I prefer my the Tui's in my Kowhai tree....

"I'd rather a Coopers than a Tui"

LOL, thats not exactly saying much tho IMO, and also, just because they have been around for a damned long time, doesn't mean shit to me!! Lion Nathan has been around for a damned long time, and they suck balls :oP

Hey!  What's with knocking Coopers?

So if you were at a craft beer bar, with many fabulous craft beers on tap that you could choose from, you would choose to drink a Coopers?

Yep, I buy it regularly and also brew and enjoy a Coopers Lager kit from time to time.

I like to have an awareness of beer in all its flavour and diversity and just as I won't have the slick marketing bind me religiously to beer with catchy advertising, I won't be pushed into buying 'craft' beer only either

Neither camp has me as a captive consumer and I drink what I want when I want

I did not mean for my innocent comment to hijack the thread. :>

I generally just drink what I like. The vast majority of the time it ends up being homebrew, or a craft beer. If I am at the RSA or out with mates at a pub with a limited selection, I will go for a Speights or Old Dark even! It depends on what is available, and whether I have it in me to not drink a craft beer or homebrew that evening.
