I know we love to give the mad props on this forum, and Skype (bless its little electronic cotton socks) tells me that today is a very special day indeed, and that mad props should, nay MUST, be doled out.

So,

Happy birthday Stu.

You, along with Sam in your Yeastie personas, have brought a new kind of vitality and fun to beer in NZ. You've shaken things up, changed the landscape, and all the time have remained modest (ish ;)), friendly, generous to a fault with time and advice, and generally been a top bloke.

Feel free to turn this into a birthday love fest for Stu - the man deserves it! Unless he's put in a fake date on Skype, but hell, it's all still true. :)

Thanks fellas, if it is on the internet is must be true.

A good day for a man "livin' the dream":

- Coffee and chocolate cake for breakfast with my three boys and wonderful woman (it's her birthday on Friday, so I better get baking!).
- Working on use cases all day (more fun than it sounds, they are around cancer care so I get to choose who lives and who dies).
- Then straight after the day job I'm off to the launch of Wellington on a Plate where PKB is the beer of choice. Batch 2 tasting damn fine so I hope the couriers perform better than my last half dozen experiences (though I've just come around to how good batch one is in the last week or so - it ain't quite PKB but damn it is tasting fine).

I've played age-group cicket and top level golf, I've worked with some awe inspiring people, especially in the health world... but something my mother never told me growing up, and that she's been a little surprised to learn, is that beer people are the best people (besides Sam).
