Has anyone accidentally frozen thier brew while crash chilling?.. it probably woudnt really bother me but I was planning to bottle this batch rather than keg so I am concerned that the yeast may be f*&ked....  any advice or tips out there?

Cheers.

Interesting thread. I though Ice Bocks were frozen multiple times so how do they get away with bottling?

I'd guess they add Krausen before bottling?

Managed to do just this yesterday ! Crash cooled in a fridge I've never used before and after 3 days was a slushie. Defrosted it and added DME to prime. Looks promising in the bottle but will have to wait and see in a couple of weeks.

Mine carbed up fine... so you should be fine.

I've heard you can freeze yeast in a glucose solution, it protects the cell walls the same way glycerin does, so maybe the residual sugars in the beer have the same effect on the yeast...
