Have you ever been to a pub in New Zealand and asked for a pint and gotten something like 400ml or 500mls (if lucky)?

Wouldn't it be great to be able to get a true pint where ever you go for a beer.

Whats even worse is when you ask for a Pint and you get given a bloody 330ml glass >:o( WTF is up with that?
yeah and charge a price you would have expected to pay for a pint
Luke you have been in the UK to long!!!!
maybe I have, and realized the shit we have to put up with here
Out of interest what do people pay for jugs/pints/handles/12oz glasses of craft beer around the country?

We serve all these sizes but how does $7.50 for a full 20oz pint of craft beer (or $8.00 if it's real ale) compare to where you drink? That's if you have proper pints......
Thats about the going rate really, $8 a pint for something decent, $5.50 for something absolutely vile ;o)
Must admit, I'm pretty impressed by the number of places that I frequent that do use proper pint glasses.

Varied prices in Auckand. From $8.90 for real ale at Galbraiths, to a ridiculous $6.70 for a proper pint of Hoprocker at the Cavalier on College Hill (where I go to watch Warriors games). My mate also lives down the road from the British Isles in Rothesay bay (on the Shore), and they sell starndard Lion fare (Macs Gold, Speights Gold, Lion Red, Great White) for just $5.50 a proper pint!

But I'd choose a $8.90 pint from G's anyday...
I live down the road from the British Isles, and they serve 400ml beers, advertised, and I ordered one once and it got given to me in a 250ml glass >:o(

I dunno if I'd want a true pint of some of the shit most places have on tap that have no good options. I'll just gag down the regular size glass of Tui, thanks.

But honestly, I don't ask for pints because I know I won't get them (at most places). Most places seem to think 'pint' is slang for 'glass', I don't think that's right but meh, that's the way it is. If one place has a glass of Speights at 400mL and another at 500mL I'm not gonna loose sleep over it.
How does this float your boat I asked for a Pint of Armageden at the Malthouse only to recive a tulip glass full of the good stuff around 450mls, I dont even know if there pints are pints? They seem to be around 500mls. What do you get when you ask for a pint of beer only to recieve it in a pint glass but with 1-2cm of Head is that a pint of beer or a pint glass with a measure of beer in it? When you ask for a pint of beer shouldnt you recieve a pint of beer? obviously they can accomadate you as they have pint glasses?
I thought the reason for the extra 70 odd mls was for the head? Which is why you generally end up with about 500mls of beer in a pint? Or am I wrong?
Wrong!!! a Pint is 568mls hence why in the UK some Pubs serve in lined pint glasses! Also I dont realy agree to much either way as long as price is reflective
