2nd NZ Case Swap

Hey guys

The last case swap went really well, it was just between AKL and ChCh, but this time round, if theres some people from Wellington keen to join in, well work something out...

So were planning on doing this again, probably once every three months or so to get feedback on our beers, and to try what everyone else is making... Im hoping this time round we get a few more people keen on this?

We need to do a few things

1. Compile a list of everyone whos keen, then decide how many batches we all do, if theres less people, well do 2 or 3 batches each...

2. Once we know whos in this time, we can vote on a date, which looks like its gonna be mid feb to mid march, depending on what works for everyone...

So ill start this off, im in :o) Who else is keen?

I think a kitsperiment beer would be fantastic, write on the bottle what the experiment was and what we should be looking for!! then we can drink it smile nod our heads and go oh, hum, ah. I like that or I don't then our beers could be the better or worse for it! I think it would be GREAT!!

Dickhead :-P, you won the best extract brewer at NHC. And I've tasted two of your beers, they're fucking good. Get off your low horse and get in the swap :-P

I brew with liquid yeast and all grain and my beers are average at best, and I'm doing it :-)

So far, this is the list ive got

AKL - Me, Barry, Studio1, and Denimglen (pending)
WLGTN - Mike Neilson, Dale Cooper, Kempicus, Dale Cooper
ChCh - James P, Rusty, Herrschnapps, Ged

Which is awesome, so if Denimglen is in, thats 12, and 4 in each city, which is good numbers...
Now we need to vote, on a date, and on how many batches... 1 batch would equal 11 bottles each, 2 batches, 22 bottles each...

Im thinking only one batch each will be needed, because thats still alot of bottles, what do you guys think?

And what about dates? Mid feb through end of march? What works best for everyone?

Shit, count me in. Sure I'll have some 'beer' by time this comes around.

Prefer 1 x 750mL per person.

Date - doesn't worry me, as long as I've got 4 - 5 weeks notice all is good.

What quantity of how many beers are required and what date are we looking at?

I'l loved to be involved. I have about 20L of mild left, some of which could go.

i've got some Imperial Stout and Ginger Beer but they are both all accounted for already.

I'm brewing 40L around christmas and then another 40L (Golden Ale) just after new year.

Generally 750ml bottle for every swap person, so if you join, and we all do one batch, that would be 12 x 750ml bottles...

Its not gonna be till next year so theres plenty of time... Im sure everyone would love for you to join?

I'll have to try and get some 750ml bottle somewhere, I usually only use the 500ml Emersons style.

Most HB stores carry them, and I know hauraki will ship them. You'll get them all back in a way anyways.

we were thinking of buying a new set in each center - enough for the swap for everyone in the swap, so to minimise the risk of failure and get some consistency. They're 50c a bottle.

One of mine failed on the last swap - bent lip. not cool. it means someone misses out.
