I'm also on the lookout for a decent glass container for 4-8 litre starters in the Auckland area. Anyone know of a source?
Brewers coop has Demijohns... 5 Litres. This is an adequate size for most beers - and at the end of the day, if you need more yeast, brew a Pale Ale / Blonde Ale / Mild Ale etc and collect the necessary amount of yeast afterwards.
I just chucked 100gm of Whole cade flowers into the Mash!! and I will chuck another in when I go to sparge. I will chuck the 20ibus @ 60 of Sauvin out. Hopefully this works!! if going to plan it lend a nice soft bitterness to the Beer. Also I cant find my Hydrometer so im starting to stress a Little. I got about 2 hurs before it becomes a problem!!
Just save 100mls of wort in the fridge to test when you get another hydrometer.

It's all good... relax!
have a homebrew!
Yeah she'll be right I will be pretty spot on with my calcs. I know its here some where but where? I wouldnt drink beer today if you paid me to!! I have over indulged a little to much this weekend!!
Tested both 1 point out on IIPA and spot on for the Robust!!! Man and I was stressing!!
Just Checked gravity on it and its at 1.012 it tastes like rio tropical punch but with alot of hot spice at the end!! So I changed the Dryhop to 60g Riwaka, 40g Nelson Sauvin, 20g Cascade Flowers, 30g Motueka it should do the trick!! I got a funny feeling this is going to finish at 1.008 giving me around 8.5% Thats Enough!!
Well heres Fridays Brew also

5kg UK Pale MAlt
150g Caramalt
200g Cara Munich 2
Sprinkle of Black to adjust colour.

50Ibu of Motueka @ 60

30g Each of EKG and Slov Styrian @ 15
10g Motueka @ 15

30g Each EKG and Slov Styrian @ 0
10g Of Motueka @ 0

Dryhop of 30g each of EKG Slove Styrian and Motueka

Undecided on Yeast 1968 or S05 I know it a English IPA but I do want the Hops to come through!!
EKG and Styrians together are the fu*king business! I reckon 1968 would work well with this, youve still got enough hops for them to shine through even if the yeast does steal a wee bit of the hop aroma..
Yeah I realy have to restrain myself on the Motueka I dont want it to kill the Styrian EKG combo as your right they are the Business!!
Hopefully should be ok with that small amount in comparison to the styrian and ekg? I dont know if id dry hop with the Motueka in this brew tho but thats just me
