I was reading about that technique recently. I think that in some places it's classed as distillation and is therefore illegal. Not in good ole NZ it aint though.
Isn't that the basis for eisenbock? (not the husky version, I think you could safely patent that process with no objections from anyone!)

Porter Neilson sounds pretty good to me.

Get as many AG beers in as you can, you'll be looking at ways to reduce the length of your brew day before you know it. I have some good kit recipes if you need them ;-)

200gm Nugget (90 min)

1 Yeast Cake English Ale (White Labs #WLP007)

Once at at least 1.040 I will add this (7-10 Days)
2.60 kg Honey (2.0 EBC) Sugar 15.00 %

Once @ 1.025-1.030 I will crash it down till Ice forms on the surface I have used an online calculator and im picking I will get 7-8litres of wateryish ice on top I will rack of the 22Litres of Beer to a carboy where I will add 1-2 Cups of Vietmenese Coffee (love the stuff its almost toffee tasting) and 5 Vanilla Pods and 50g of Coconibs for 5 days.

I think I will have to add new yeast (champange) and a touch of sugar to carb, The SG of the beer is 30 litres 1.125 to 1.028 (12.8%) than one I take of the 7-8 litres of water it should make the beer about 16-17% ABV
I cant wait to get into the process it should be an intresting brew!! Wish me luck as I may need it!!

Looks like a pretty big brew mate! Enjoy ;o) Will be interesting to see how much of all the vanilla and coffee flavours come through in the final product?
It came through in the Mikeller Beer Geek Brunch Wesel, Yeah dont know about the vanilla it back up the roasted malts and molasses, Honey Sugar just honey bro, its how beersmith lists it on the brew sheet

Hopfully I get another 20L of a 1.040 stout out of it as well!! will help out with the 17kg grain bill!!
