Cascade and Styrians, I've never thought of that, looks good

Brewing ?

I've got a brown ale in the fermenter - which would be more at home with a lager yeast than an ale the way things feel at the moment ...

Lager?

It's snowing outside and my garage is 5C. I'm tempted to climb into the fermentation fridge with the lagers to warm up.

(When I was young we used to eat gravel for breakfast etc, etc..)

Well the obvious question is when are you posting pics of the snowman then !

I'll count myself lucky, only sleet and a toasty 10C in the garage this morning

Definitely snowing here!
I put a brown down today too, loosely based on Janets Brown. Mashed this morning, and then was reminded of an afternoon birthday thing... so the wort sat in the kettle for 3 hours before I got back to boil it. Dunno if it will make any difference?? In the fermentor now.
Yeh, I sat my brewing gear outside the shed last night to clean up when I had some daylight...

Sheesh! Where do you live?

I assume you do not have problems chilling your wort!

Christchurch!! Wort chilled down in about 10 minutes last night... was no snow on the ground then tho!

15 Mins Whirlfloc

0 Min 1oz Nelson Sauvin (14%)

Yeast -- Wyeast 1056

Secondary Dry Hop 2oz Nelson Sauvin

I just kegged this. It has a pineapple aroma, and citrus/grape flavour. I like it.

Looks real tasty!  Alcohol high?

Not sure exactly what style you'd call this...

3kg Malteurop pils

1kg Weyermann vienna

250g Bairds torrified wheat

9g Pacific Jade @ 60

13g (all I had left) Motueka @ 15

10g Pacific Jade @ 10

10g Pacific Jade @ 0

~28IBU

1.6L intermittently shaken starter of Fermentis W34/70 lager yeast, hopefully enough. Pitched at 10degC - pretty bloody cold for Auckland tap water!
