Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Last chance for NZ beers for a while (aside from the Youngs) - 2 weeks in San Francisco starting Monday.
Damn you Glynn. Bring be back some spoils from Green Flash and Russian River... I will be your eternal slave.
Not sure I'll be getting any brewery tours this time unfortunately - certainly not for Green Flash, and unlikely I'll have time for Russian River. Best bet will be a few brew pubs around SF, and some liquor stores. Will buy a couple of 6 packs on arrival for hotel room of course.
Young's double chocolate, is one of my favourites, love that beer. I have tried to clone it twice so far......I'll keep trying.
How good is that Vintage aye? Soooo good.

Stu - you changed my lifelong perception of English Ale...I will forever be grateful.
I'm glad I could be of assistance. It is one of the best, isn't it.
Wait until something decent comes into Beerstore... you'll be even more delighted. I'm hoping Crouch Vale is on the agenda.

In a nutshell - Cereal Pest APA and Mikes brett infused Barleywine! Yummy!!!
After brewing an APA yesterday I fancied something American, so I pulled out a bottle of Alesmith X. A lighter style APA, but still very tasty. Lots of classic citrussy hops, with a little bit of my favourite orange marmalade. Much lighter body than some of the big APAs though, so much more drinkable.
Did it have any tinned corn? Both mine did. Tasted OK but smelt slight weird.
Mine was magnificent. Nothing in the two beerstore purchases I made came even close. Pliny was a pathetic under-nourished and knock-kneed cousin.

Sorry... I went a bit weak at the knees myself... I was thinking about the Alesmith IPA, not Alesmith X.
This Pliny was a lot weaker in hoppyness than what it is on tap - hopefully Glynn gets to have a taste ehile he's in the beer capital.
