Ok, so What Are You Brewing was a hotty, as topics go.

Now I'm 15 pints into a keg I only filled on Tuesday and wondering if anyone else has a favourite at the moment ?

It's my second brown with US-Oh05 and it's better than the forst, maybe Ikept the temps down a bit during the scorcher we had in januray

Good point Ally.... it is good in the bottle, really good even. But it is absolutely mint on tap.

two best beers of the year (building up to ten from here in no particular order):

Townshend NTA
Three Boys Golden
I need some Townshend NTA i think
3B GA for me is arguably the best beer on tap in NZ at the mo.

Bottles i think the Green Bots do 3B a disservice, especially if they've been on the shelf a long time. Lucky that my local does the IPA, GA and wheat on tap
Yeah, it was from the bottle - will keep an eye out for it on draught at the Free House or Moutere Inn.

NTA - now there's a beer that I'm happy to agree is top notch!
Couldn't make it to the conference on Sunday so I treated myself to some Deschutes Mirror Pond, Inversion IPA and Black Bute Porter from Beer Store. Very nice, the Cascade Hops are very pronounced and the Porter had a nice chocolate hit.
Ginger Ninja Mk2, which will be making its way to Project Pause drinks on Thursday night before the long weekend in Chch.
Bready on the nose (kit yeast X3) with a classic ginger beer profile masking 6.3% abv.
Dogfish Head 60 min IPA - Im not sure if its the drinkability or the particular hop theyve used that makes me like this better than the 90 min IPA, or maybe its cos it was fresher? But man, such a fresh complex hop flavour and a subtle honey malt character, soft dry lingering finish, yum!!

I also had a Firestone walker IPA but didnt think about it and just enjoyed it, it was very tasty, well balanced and had some good hop character to it!
A Stout through my new hand pump!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!! Oh everyone should have one the beer tastes amazing through it!!
His Majesty. At Morre Wilsons.... in Masterton! Yeastie Boys has made it to the provinces.
Hahaha!!
Wicked! Must tell my folks. They've been harassing me about getting the fellas at Lounge (Carterton) to get it in.

ps. We're in Methven too, so it gets even further afield.
Hop Stoopid Ale from Regionals
Interesting...I am undecided, which means I'll need to drink more. Huge aroma and head on first pour. Initial deep bitter orange taste with slight malt sweetness on the back palate, in the end, big pine flavours. Had a very green aftertaste that I am not sure was quite balanced.
It just screams "Hops!!!!!!". I'd say it is unbalanced, hence why I love it. My only critique would be that it needs more hops.
